I wanted to highlight some of my favorite places in Virginia Beach's District 7 where my family and I spend our time, whether it's enjoying delicious food, listening to music, or exploring the great outdoors. I hope you can take some time to visit these places and fill your memory bank with wonderful experiences.
1. Stumpy Lake
One of our top spots in Virginia Beach District 7 is definitely Stumpy Lake. My wife and I love going there to see the wildlife, go for a quick hike, or kayak across the lake. You'll find us out there at least once a month going for the quick 30 minute walk in nature.Â
2. Sundae Scoops
When we first moved to Virginia Beach, we were on a quest to find the best ice cream shop in town. We've had a lot of great ice cream, but Sundae Scoops is the cherry on top. Their Lemon Cake ice cream is my favorite, and they are well-known for their Ube Ice Cream. They also have some of the coolest merchandise.
3. Punjabi Rasoi Indian
While you're near Sundae Scoops, make sure to check out Punjabi Rasoi Indian. In my opinion, they have the best Indian food in the 757, and their lunch buffet is fantastic!
4. Back Bay's Farmhouse
One of the first places my family visited was Backbay Farmhouse Brewery. It's a spot we love to take our friends and family for good outdoor vibes, music, and great times. We also have a family tradition of writing our New Year's goals, hopes, and dreams here.
5. Salem Middle School
Since I’m running for the School Board, I have to give a shoutout to Salem Middle School for being such a great place for my kids. My daughter improved her choral skills there, and my son got involved in various clubs. Huge thanks to the teachers and safety officers who were so accommodating, especially with all the orthodontist appointments my kids had this year. I'm excited for my daughter to start at Tallwood Global Languages Academy so I can learn more about the school.
6. Rudy and Kelly Academy
My daughter and wife love visiting the Rudy & Kelly Academy to support students learning beauty and stylist work. I also think they enjoy the discounts they get when getting their hair done.
7. Salem Woods our Home in Virginia Beach District Seven
At the end of the day, I love my home, our community, and living life in Salem Woods. From the dog park a few blocks away to all the friendly neighbors out walking during the day, it's a joy to live in a place where people care about each other. We help each other find lost pets and share recommendations when something needs fixing.
