Supporting our Teachers: Teachers are at the forefront of our children's educational journey. Virginia Beach must set the standard in teacher compensation, professional development, and career advancement. Additionally, we need to tackle the increasing classroom sizes and rising discipline issues to move our community forward.
-
Employee Culture: A strong employee culture is essential for building a team of high performers. I am eager to collaborate with individuals who share this commitment, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued, motivated, and empowered to excel. I have built high performing learning and staff cultures that exceeded 50+ NPS and >90% net positive satisfaction and sense of belonging. I understand the importance of listening to employee feedback and building solutions together from the bottom up.

Music Education: I am a proud parent of a daughter in chorus, a son who plays the bass, and a marching and pep band alum. I have played in multiple bands, written lots of music, and just had my first electronic/DJ show at the Chicken Spot in May. Band was a home for me and was the place where I developed a passion and love for learning. It gave me lifelong friends, but more importantly, got me serious about school and learning.

Equity:Every student who enters our schools deserves a cohesive and inclusive experience that celebrates their individuality and empowers them to be their authentic selves. We must ensure that our educational environment supports and values diversity, providing equal opportunities for all students to thrive and succeed.

Back to Business:We need to get the outside and externally funded politics out of our schools and get back to business. Parents already have the right to review curriculum and can already limit the books their kids can check out and so on. We do not need to waste taxpayer money on oversight committees and more unneeded bureaucracies. Given my experience in education, operations, leading teams, data analytics, I believe that these skills will be best utilized with getting our board back to business.
